Senior Director – QA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Quality Assurance to lead our QA department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of quality assurance processes, a proven track record in managing large teams, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in product quality. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality across all product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Strategy:
  • Develop and implement the overall quality assurance strategy for the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and create professional development plans for team members.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align QA objectives with business goals.
• Quality Assurance Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and management of all QA activities, including manual and automated testing.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards, processes, and methodologies to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Implement and manage effective QA metrics and reporting systems to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in QA practices.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline QA processes and reduce time-to-market.
  • Drive the adoption of automated testing tools and frameworks to increase coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with product development, engineering, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of QA processes into the product lifecycle.
  • Communicate QA status, progress, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Facilitate and lead QA-related meetings, reviews, and post-mortem analyses to drive continuous improvement.
• Risk Management:
  • Proactively identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation plans to address them.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Lead efforts to conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing large QA teams and driving large-scale quality initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in software development or engineering.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
• Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to the industry.
